Whimsical Woodland – The Delphine Basin

For this large, contemporary style house, the owners asked interior designer Rina Patel from Vastu Interior Design Ltd to create a powder room that had a real ‘wow’ factor to make their guests feel they were in a special space.

“I wanted to create a particularly enchanting room to echo the position of the house in its gracious woodland setting,” says Rina. “The Delphine basin from London Basin Company was really the starting point for the design process; I absolutely loved the wonderful nature-inspired pattern and colour. I also specified a whimsical wallpaper from Harlequin to give the room a magical yet relaxed feel and to perfectly complement the basin’s design.”

Striking blue tiles create a dramatic backdrop for the Delphine and help to draw attention downwards towards the basin, which is the focal point of the space. London Basin Company’s Theo Tap in brushed brass adds a stylish vintage undertone, complemented by an antiqued brass mirror above. The sprawling woodland wallpaper mimics the Delphine’s natural theme; this wonderfully unique basin features a pattern of graceful, gliding cranes, weaving in and out of a dotted trail of delicate white cherry blossoms. Painted with care by hand ensures every Delphine is unique for a charming and characterful touch.
